One of those images that started as something else.
I was trying to make a G2H map for a Bryce scene I had in mind. I started by making a rough wing shape in Photoshop with the path tools. Being too lazy to sketch in the ornate detail I had in mind, I tried KPT 5's FraxFlame to see if it would do it for me. It didn't, but then I used RadWarp on the result and then ... I no longer remember what happened next, but it ended up with a radial gradient fill applied to an overlaid layer composited with difference mode. And that produced this.
