This image began from an experiment with textures. I was trying for the kind of metallic/organic textures that appear in the cover art for the Blue Oyster Cult album "ETI Live". Applying a simple PhotoShop image to stretched spheres yielded the beginnings of the temple and the rest followed.
All objects in the scene, including the landed spaceship (revived from an earlier project), are made with Bryce primitives.
The citation has nothing to do with the image, but everything to do with its inspiration.
