In case it isn't obvious, this scene depicts a steampunk spaceport, complete with giant cannons for launching interplanetary spacecraft. Naturally, everything is made of polished brass and oak, and the Union Jack waves above it all.
The image began as an experiment with Carrara's realistic sky editor. A simple projectile shape made in the spline editor and surfaced with a reflective texture suggested a steampunk-themed image, which led in turn to the construction of gigantic cannons (as in Jules Verne's "From Earth to the Moon") for launching the spacecraft.
The launch platforms are modeled from Carrara primitives and splines.
