I spent quite a lot of time trying to create mermaid images for a mermaid-themed publication (Spoiler: they didn’t like any of them). This was an image from the second batch, and re-used part of a scene that I’d made earlier to try to simulate the effect of sunlight filtering through water (Spoiler: it didn’t work the way I wanted it to).
While I wasn’t able to get quite the effect that I wanted, I thought the final image turned out OK. I hesitated as to whether I should cover up the mermaid’s chest to make things more family-friendly, but eventually decided against it. While I don’t typically post R-rated images to this site, I felt that adorning my mermaid with a pair of strategically-placed sea-shells or whatever would look silly and spoil the image. If the result is in violation of community standards in your area, you have my apologies.
