I succumbed to the urge to make another hackneyed sword-and-sorcery image, loosely in the style of Frazetta, Vallejo or Bell. The original goal was to try to reproduce some of the tones and textures found in Frazetta’s images, which often draw on the same palette found in the work of some of the ‘old masters’.
I didn’t quite manage that. I couldn’t get a combination that I liked, so I ended up instead with this rather more colorful image, which looks like something you’d have seen air-brushed on the side of a van in the ‘70s.
The image was post-edited in Luminar, and I used the sky replacement feature to insert the lightning stroke behind the figure. Which raised the cheesiness factor by another order of magnitude, but I don't care.
