This image started as an attempt to imitate a screen capture that I'd taken while watching a science-fiction film. The door was built using spline objects made with Carrara's Spline Modeler, then textured using a custom shader. The image is lit using a preset from Tim Payne's Carrara Skies Lightdomes, supplemented by two additional lights: one to light the woman's face, the other to bring out the details of the door.
