Posed and rendered entirely in Carrara. The two closest riders are actual figures in the scene, while the rest are duplicates of them, created using a surface replicator. Use of the replicator in this scene wasn't entirely straightforward. I could have placed the duplicates on the main terrain, but it's so large that they'd have ended up scattered all over the scene. Instead, I created a separate, smaller terrain, added the duplicates to that, and made it invisible. This isn't wholly satisfactory: because the two terrains don't match, some of the riders hover above the terrain, while others are sunk into it. Still, with a little luck, no one's looking that closely.
