This image is the product of an unsuccessful attempt to create a space scene. In the end, the only part of the scene that I actually liked were the glowing clouds, which were created using Bryce volumetrics.
In addition to the volumetric clouds, there are also a large number of lights left over from previous versions of the scene. This added up to slow render times, but did help to create an otherworldly atmosphere.
