The wall behind the figure was modeled and textured in Carrara. It was originally built for a different scene, but the application of a brick texture made it look like a large exterior wall. The misty background behind the figure is a volumetric cloud.
The handgun is from the M4 Hardcore set. It's a very large gun, and the fact that it was in the foreground of the scene made it look even larger. Because I didn't want to make it look as if my rather nerdy-looking protagonist was compensating for something, I scaled it down radically.
I'm not quite sure why someone who owns a big chunky suit of armor like this would be wandering around with his head exposed, but you can figure out the back story.
