The spaceship in this image was generated randomly using the online Shapewright spaceship generator. Shapewright generates output in .wrl format. To produce something that I could import to Carrara, I had to use Blender to read the .wrl file, and then save it as a 3DS file.
Ships generated by Shapewright tend to be fairly simple. To improve the appearance of the ship, I added a number of components from the Nurnies Greebles Parts and Pieces product, adding antennae, fuel tanks and additional details.
Stars in the background are produced by the Starry Sky product. The bright star in the upper right is a bulb light with cross and glow effects applied. Nebulosity in the lower left corner is a volumetric cloud.
This image was lightly post-edited using Photoshop's Camera Raw filter to increase the contrast and bring out the detail of the spaceship.
